The Ontario Racquet Club is looking to “Adopt a Hole” at the RBC Canadian Open. Golf Canada have designated the 9th hole at Glen Abbey and will assign our members to marshal that hole together.
Last year, volunteers saw Ian Poulter, Bubba Watson, Adam Hadwin, Dustin Johnson and Jon Rahm amongst others tee off against each other. We likewise saw Patrick Chan, Claude Giroux and Connor Brown at the Pro-Am day.
ORC needs about 25 members to volunteer to be a Marshal. What’s involved? Golf Canada looks for a commitment of at least four six-hour shifts during the Monday to Sunday period of the tournament. Orientation and training will be provided.
As with any PGA TOUR event there is a cost to volunteer of $75. With this fee you receive a volunteer package worth over $300. Included in this package is:
Yes, you get a weekly pass for yourself and another one to give to anyone you choose.
Want to go ahead and register? You can do so right here!
When you go to the RBC Canadian Open website to register please indicate club affiliation as Ontario Racquet Club, or ORC. Indicate in the comments you want to volunteer with Doug Mills on Hole #9. Any member registering will receive a credit on their account for 50% of the registration fee the week after attending the orientation session in June.
We are excited about this opportunity to participate in a great national sporting event and provide our members with a chance to see some of the world’s best athletes up close!
