New* Adult Fit Factor: Rating 1 - 5

Fitness factor is simply a general reflection of the programs intensity level, repetition of movement, and overall caloric burn through participation. Each program provided in the guide has a corresponding Fit Factor, and is another great way to help you to select the program of your choice.

Ratings from 1 (Low level, instructional, low challenge of speed and movement, slight sweat, regular breathing) to 5 (challenge of speed of reaction, movement, recovery, high volume drill or high intensity play, hear yourself breathing, lot’s of sweating)

Adult Levels of Play:
Players can receive a complimentary assessment from one of our pro’s or self-assess one’s playing ability by using the rating system below.

1.0 - Never played: Enthusiastic but has never held a racquet

2.0 - Beginner: May have had lessons and is working at getting the ball over the net

2.5 – High Beginner: Can keep the ball in play and is working on keeping score and playing games

3.0 - Low Intermediate: Can play singles and doubles and needs more consistency

3.5 - Intermediate: Can be consistent and needs to develop more depth and precision

4.0 – High Intermediate: Has developed strokes and needs to develop more tactics and power

4.5 – Club advanced: Has mastered precision and power and needs to develop more strategy

5.0 + Provincial Advanced: Has mastered precision, power, tactics and strategy and is playing open tournaments

Types of Adult Programs

Program Names:
> Instant Tennis 1.0-1.5
> Stroke of the Week 2.0-3.0
> Feeding Frenzy 2.5-4.0

Desired Outcome:
Learn & Improve
  • I want to learn and get better so I can play on my own
  • I love the learning process
  • I want to understand the game more (rules, pts, movement)
  • I want to be able to beat my friend
  • I want to get good enough to play on a team, in a tournament or club event
  • I like the instruction and encouragement from a certified pro
Program Names:
> Singles 2.5-3.5
> Singles 3.5+
> Doubles 2.5-3.5
> Doubles 3.5+

Desired Outcome:
Practice + Play
  • I want to learn and improve and get a good work out at the same time
  • I want the pro overseeing both the drill and how I play in a game situation
  • I like the format of high intensity drilling and fun intense match play
  • I want to learn a specific shot/strategy to improve my game
Program Names:
> Singles 2.5-3.0 League
> Doubles 2.5-3.0 League
> Doubles 3.5+ League
> Flexible Play Programs

Desired Outcome:
Play
  • I want to increase my fitness level through active fun
  • I like to socialize with others of same ability, sex, schedule, life situations
  • I like a private group at regular times as it is all pre set and makes me come out and play
  • I like to be able to sign up on a weekly basis
  • I want to keep the cost down to a minimum with a fee just for organization
  • I want to play with just men, women, my spouse and other couples.

Compete
  • I love the rush of competition
  • I like to challenge myself and others
  • I like to compete against other clubs

Program Names:
> Monthly Mixed

Desired Outcome:
Social
  • I want something different and lively, more than some old dinner out
  • I want to share experience with my partner and meet other new couples
  • I love the experience of sport activity followed by good food and friends
  • I want something fun, active, yet affordable as we have young kids
  • I love getting together with all the pros and members for a fun event.
