The ORC Sports Performance Academy
Train hard or go home!
Our mission...
To provide ALL athletes the tools to reach their full potential in sport.
Values...
- Character:
The character of a champion is one of the most important values we hold at the ORC Sports Performance Academy. We guide and give the tools to each athlete to discover the qualities and features that distinguishes them and find their moral and ethical strengths. Building an athlete is not just about muscles. Every athlete is a leader to others around them on the field, ice, court... even in school and at home.
- Work Ethic:
Champions are not afraid to work hard and look for challenge every day. We teach athletes to harness their drive, their and desire to use it and the virtues of hard work and diligence.
- Integrity:
Do what you say and say what you do – it’s that simple!
- Respect:
Consideration, appreciation, and concern are all given by the athlete to their coaches, team mates, families, teachers, opponents and themselves (and vice versa – of course).
- Results:
To measure success we use results: favorable, concrete outcomes or effects.
- Education:
Education (to us) is the knowledge and/or skills obtained/developed through our periodized learning process.

- Nutrition
Nutrition is a key element in achieving optimal performance in sport, any level or any age. Fueling an athlete’s body is more complex than feeding the the everyday person. Nutrition performance, results and recovery are all very interconnected.
The ORC Sports Performance Academy nutritionist can help your athlete, small group or team improve their knowledge of nutrition, excel to optimal levels in sport and recover to keep energy levels at peak levels. We focus on a 3 step process: assessment, analysis, and advice:
- Assessment:
Past and present health and lifestyle, current eating patterns, personal and cultural food preferences, and special nutritional needs are assessed, alongside sports-specific demands for muscular energy, body composition changes, and recovery.
- Analysis:
An accurate record of eating and drinking during the normal daily training and practice regime is analyzed to show how every food and drink choice affects your body, performance and recovery.
- Advice:
Working with the athlete, plans are developed for changes in body composition, complete hydration, ideal nutrient intakes for performance, and for long term health and wellness. These are supported by an on-going strategy for implementing the changes required for optimal nutrition in practical situations both home and abroad.

- Life Skills
We can’t change the world unless we are willing to change ourselves!
Many athletes are type A personalities or high achievers. With the stress of sport on top of a high performance disposition many athletes find it hard to see balance in sport, life and within themselves.

Athletes will learn how to function as a person, a leader and an athlete in their everyday lives. Life skills will foster the character of a champion in everyone who participates at the Sports Performance Academy. Life skills is geared towards helping beginners, recreational, juniors, adults and professionals create thinking patterns that will open opportunities to succeed in their education, family life, friendships, sports and life after sports.
